Descripción: His Excellency Dr. Izben Cordinal Williams presented his credentials to U.S. President George Bush in August 2001 thereby formalizing his appointment as St. Kitts and Nevis Ambassador to the USA. During that same month Ambassador Williams was accredited to the Organization of American States (OAS) as St. Kitts and Nevis Permanent Representative. Born in Nevis, East Caribbean, Ambassador Williams grew up and had his early education in St. Kitts before migrating to Canada where he studied General Science at the University of Toronto. He subsequently studied at the University of the West Indies, University of Miami and George Washington University and holds qualifications in General Medicine, Psychiatry and International Health Policy. He has held academic appointments in the Caribbean and in Canada and has authored various works in psychiatry and on ‘health and development’ issues. Ambassador Williams maintains sustained interest in issues of international health and development, peace and conflict resolution, and human rights and governance. Opportunities such as this the Ambassador therefore welcomes to exchange ideas on these and other crucial issues.
